Vocal and Piano Instruction

Teaching music has been my joy and passion since 2014. I love to help students to meet their musical goals, to guide them in gaining confidence, and to empower them to excel at their craft with excellent technique and expression.

My training and background include classical piano, piano performance, vocal performance, private CCM vocal training, choir, and Level 1 and 2 certification in Somatic Voicework™, among other musical experiences and instruction gained over the years. As a teacher, I aim to never stop researching and learning how to best serve my students.

My Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and License in Professional Counseling (LPC) inform my teaching style, which is student-focused. I customize lessons to the needs, interests, and abilities of my students.

I especially enjoy working on alternative rock, pop, and musical theater rep (including audition prep) with my vocal students, although I teach all styles. My students range from beginner to professional level and grow their vocal skills for personal enrichment, choir, auditions, band performance, etc.

For my piano students, I offer a classical method but incorporate songs which are requested by my students to offer an engaging learning experience.

Working with students at Songbird Studio is awesome, and I am grateful to have stepped into a new role as owner of Songbird in 2023.

My time is split between being a wife to my wonderful husband, a mom to two cool kids, owning and running Songbird, producing and vocal directing musicals for kids ages 7-17 in Songbird Productions, teaching my piano and vocal students, and sitting in my yard watching my small flock of chickens.
